Pool Shed Construction
Because our existing pool shed was deteriorating and needed to be replaced, I constructed a new shed. I designed, planned, budgeted and built all aspects of the pool shed. This updated and larger design has additional storage and a changing room. I had the opportunity to perform many different aspects of construction work including concrete, framing, sheathing, shingling, electrical and plumbing, as well as other finish work. It achieves its intended goal of housing the pool equipment and necessary supplies and reduced noise of the equipment.
Changing Room Construction
Finish work was needed to complete the pool shed. The addition of a changing room was needed to increase functionality. I added flooring, lighting, wall paneling and paint. I also built shelving to hold towels or other pool supplies.
Go Kart Development
Attempting to put off an English paper my freshman year of high school, I first went out on an old wagon and tried to ride it down a hill. This was the beginning of my Go Kart. After purchasing a predator engine from Harbor Freight and some parts from Amazon, I was building it. I quickly realized that the plastic wagon frame would not be able to sustain the weight set on it and it required a full redesign. With limited machining experience at the time, woodworking was the only option. I created a wooden chassis with 2x12s and was ready to go. Again, after much iteration (not everything went according to plan), and some late nights during my high school years, I built something that hit speeds upwards of 50mph. That can be quite scary for a wooden go-kart!
Other Landscaping and Construction Projects
In my other free time, I enjoy landscaping and have completed a number of large scale jobs. I also have reengineered a pair of old mahogany doors and built furniture. Look around if you’re interested.
