Experience

Shimmick Construction Company (Construction Engineering Intern)

I was a construction engineering intern at Shimmick Construction, working at the Antioch Water Treatment Plant. Here, we were in charge of adding additional functionality to the plant, making it a Brackish Water Desalination Plant to combat the water scarcity issue in California. I had the opportunity to bring my mechanical engineering experience to many different aspects of the projects. I significantly enjoyed working on the cofferdam and trench layouts. Planning, procuring and overseeing the implementation of such a large scale project in such a short amount of time was an amazing opportunity. It was great to have worked on a project that will have a large impact on the community in coming years.

Banister Electric (Engineering Intern)

As an engineering intern for Banister Electric, I had the opportunity to see multiple different aspects of the electrical trade. I worked on electrical layouts for buildings, performed implementation of electrical equipment, and facilitated the planning and distribution of electrical equipment to job sites all around the Bay Area. I enjoyed working with electrical designers and the electricians in the field to learn how the plans created were actually implemented in practice.

Component Design Lead Teaching Assistant

I was the lead Teaching Assistant for CU Boulder Mechanical Engineering Component Design courses for the Fall and Spring semesters for the 2021-2022 academic year. I consistently worked on students’ final project designs through multiple sets of design reviews, both formally and in office hours. I consistently held biweekly office hours and coordinated with the other teaching assistants to hold labs. I accessed and provided feedback on homework, projects and exams for more than 175 students each semester. To celebrate the work that the students completed, I organized a project showcase and competition.
